A Smile Cannot Hide The Truth From The True.
On the outside, everyone sees a perfect smile
Everyone thinks that i am totally fine
But for a friend, it doesn't take a long while
Before they realize the pain inside
One look into my eyes and they can tell
That the smile is merely a mask
For some it seems to work well
But for these friends the wonder if they should ask
Why are the eyes the weakest part?
So easy for a friend to read
Especially when in your heart
Sympathy is the last think you need
You understand that now they know
Their smiles will disappear
When you didn't want the smiles to go
For they did give you some cheer
They take a guess about what is wrong
It's amazing how good they are
It's like the knew the truth all along
They ask if their right, and they are
You begin to let it out
The pain you have kept inside
And quietly you begin to pout
But your true friends are there by your side
You try to wipe away your tears
Before they can see you cry
But they saw which was your fears
Even though you did try
They hug you and tell you that everything will be alright
When what a great site
A smile on their face
And "Dont worry" they say
They look at you with shock
As through all the painful tears
A smile on your face is locked
That goes from ear to ear
You just realized how these are friends that are true
As they stand here by your side
And if you only knew
That your emotions had no reason to hide
So let this be a lesson
That a smile can not hide
From your true friends
The feelings that are inside
